Refresh and update skills to operate a Twin Fall Davit Lifeboat during an emergency.
This course is designed for individuals who have already attained the pre-requisite skills and knowledge required for coxswains to safely operate a twin fall davit lifeboat/TEMPSC (Totally Enclosed Motor Propelled Survival Craft) to facilitate a safe evacuation or recovery of personnel.
The purpose of this course is to refresh and update individual’s skills and knowledge, ensuring a consistent level of competence and capability expected within your workplace.
The twin fall davit lifeboat is a form of evacuation commonly found on offshore installations and facilities.
Please make sure that you check your workplace requirements and select the correct skills maintenance lifeboat training course before you book. This course does not cover the use of other forms of lifeboat launch arrangements that are available at ERGT via separate courses.
This course is delivered via in-classroom theory and practical drills broadly covering:
- Familiarisation of the lifeboat
- Safety attributes within the lifeboat and the use of them
- Practice pre-launch safety checks and procedures
- Boarding arrangements
- Experience the free fall into the water in a safe controlled environment
- Recover the lifeboat
ERGT Australia offers other skills maintenance Lifeboat launch arrangements. Available in Perth are Swing Arm Davit Lifeboat and Freefall Lifeboat. Our Single Fall Lifeboat training is currently only available at our Melbourne Training Centre.

Structure & Assessment
This course is delivered through classroom presentations, activities and participant discussion as well as practical components within a simulated workplace environment. Assessment is conducted via direct observations & practical exercises.

In order for ERGT to deliver the training and assessment in the timeframe specified for this course, trainees are required to come to the course with a specific range of skills and knowledge.
