Royal Flying Doctor Service

ERGT Australia has called Jandakot industrial estate home for more than 20 years which has helped a close relationship develop with the neighbouring Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Each year between 30 and 50 members of the RFDS team including doctors, nurses and aviation staff undertake safety and emergency response training in tailored courses run free-of-charge by ERGT Australia. To support this partnership, the HUET module at the Perth Training Centre was tailored to reflect fixed-wing aircrafts which are used by the RFDS.

This partnership has ensured RFDS staff are able to safely focus on their life-saving tasks with the confidence and capability to react appropriately to any issues that may arise.

ERGT helps RFDS to maximise its funding to do what best they do – providing emergency medical and primary health care services in rural and remote Australia.

NETTS and EAG

ERGT Australia has been supporting the National Energy Technician Training Scheme (NETTS) and Energy apprenticeships Group (EAG) to provide a safe workplace for students to complete industry relevant work experience. The NETTS program recruits year 12 leavers to prepare them for process roles within the oil and gas industry. Students are selected by companies including Shell, Woodside, Vermillion Energy and Quadrant Energy to participate, and students bring with them a great mix of passion, enthusiasm, good engineering aptitude and drive.

Gilmore College

Gilmore College is a major local high school which delivers education in the suburbs around Jandakot, where ERGT Australia’s Perth operations are based. A number of students from the College attend the Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training (ACEPT), a world-class, specialist facility aligned with requirements of the oil and gas, processing and resources industries. As part of their learning development, students have the opportunity to spend time at ERGT Australia, both to undertake training relevant to the oil and gas industry and to learn first-hand about the ERGT Australia operations.

Energy Club WA Next Generation Schools Program

ERGT proudly partner with the ‘Next Generation Schools Program’ facilitated by Energy WA.

Over 1,000 students from 21 Western Australian schools are involved in this annual program aimed to educate and inspire year 8-10 students.

With a Lead Mentor provided to each group, students gain a deeper understanding of the role that energy plays and the diversity of career opportunities available to them.

ERGT supports the Energy WA Next Generation Schools Program by hosting field trips to our Jandakot facility along with an interactive experience during the end of program Expo Day.

Collectively we recognise the importance of building the next generation within the energy sector.
