Revisit & Maintain Your Confined Space & Height Safety Skills
The purpose of this course is to assess and update candidates’ skills and knowledge, ensuring maintenance of a standardised level of competence and capability expected within high risk industries.
This course is designed for individuals who require skills maintenance training to ensure the maintenance of skills and knowledge learned in initial confined space and heights safety training. Trainees attending the course are expected to be experienced workers from the Oil & Gas industry sector with exposure to facility/company induction process.

Confined space skills maintenance:
- Plan for confined space for entry
- Prepare confined space for entry
- Conduct confined space entry
- Conclude operations
Heights safety skills maintenance
- Plan for work at height
- Set up restraint technique / fall arrest system
- Perform work at heights
ERGT Required Skills and Knowledge
In order for ERGT to deliver the training and assessment in the timeframe specified for this course, trainees are required to come to the course with a specific range of skills and knowledge.
Evidence of the following prior skills and knowledge must be provided to ERGT for verification prior to course commencement:
- RIISHS204E Work safely at heights (or equivalent)
AND - RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces (or equivalent)
Structure and Assessment
This program encourages candidates to practically revisit then demonstrate and apply skills and knowledge to realistic work activities. Practical activities are conducted in our immersive, high fidelity, workplace aligned training environment. The written assessments capture evidence of knowledge and are supported by practical assessments modelled around work activities conducted in real-time
under industry-aligned conditions. Practical assessments are based on both individual and team-based performance criteria.
Medical and Health Standards
A medical certificate is not required for this course, however a health questionnaire and declaration of fitness will be required at course registration. Please contact ERGT for any concerns regarding completion of practical training and assessment requirements and to discuss options for reasonable adjustments.
Additional Requirements
A Government issued photo identification is required for course registration.
Skills Maintenance
In alignment with industry expectations and to ensure ongoing competence and capability ERGT recommends skills maintenance be conducted every 2 years.
