First Response to Fire | Skills Maintenance Perth · Melbourne · Darwin
ERGT Australia’s First Response to Fire Skills Maintenance course allows individuals to refresh their skills and knowledge in identifying, assessing and controlling workplace emergency situations.
These situations include; a small fire that can be controlled using a nearby fire extinguisher, or a chemical spill that can be controlled using workplace personal protective clothing and equipment. The knowledge and skills gained through the completion of this training may be applied by all employees across all industries.
Structure and Assessment
This course is delivered in a classroom and simulated workplace/industry environment using presentations, hands on practical training exercises and presentations. Trainees are assessed during written and practical assessments as well as verbal questions which are linked to practical demonstrations.
Learning Outcomes
The expected learning outcomes for this course are:
- Identify fire emergency and raise alarm
- Initiate basic fire responses
- Notify responsible authorities
- Undertake safe evacuation
Ongoing Maintenance of Skills
In alignment with industry expectations and to ensure ongoing competence and capability ERGT recommends skills maintenance be conducted every two (2) years.
ERGT Required Skills and Knowledge
- MSMWHS212 Undertake first response to fire incidents or equivalent
Certification
Upon successful completion trainees will be issued with a Certificate of Currency in:
