ERGT delivers training for individuals looking after their own competency requirements, right through to the Australian Defence Force training with centres in the east and north of Australia, right through to the personal and process safety competency requirements for some of the world’s largest organisations like Exxon Mobil, Woodside, Chevron and Shell. Our trainees who exceed 30,000 each year, transition through our centres around Australia as they mobilise to their remote workplaces.
We are seeking a well credentialed professional, purpose driven person with extensive international scope experience in coordination, research, development, and delivery of competency-based safety training policies for high-risk industries. You will have extensive safety training business development and stakeholder engagement experience, together with expert knowledge of global developments in the energy and maritime industries, and how these impact future Australian energy and maritime operations. Of vital importance will be experience in the regulatory requirements associated with safety training in these existing high risk industries as well as those of the emerging renewable industries of wind, solar, hydrogen, ammonia among others. These industries are now emerging in Australia with significant changes from government policy initiatives and focus. Safety training and skills maintenance standards for these industries, while existent in European environments, are yet to be developed for Australian operations. It is for this reason we seek well credentialed individuals with the insight and understanding of the intersect of the existing Australian high-risk operations of Maritime and aviation and oil and gas which either interact with these renewables off-shore such as wind, or are themselves transitioning to renewable operations and need transition plans for safety capability. Ideally candidates will have had extensive dealings with regulatory bodies such as OPITO, AMSA, NOPSEMA, NOGEPA, GWO, IMO, Renewable Industry Association

The role will therefore lead the organisation in translational education research and development of initiatives and policies to meet the demand for accredited high-quality, cost-effective, competency-based safety training for emerging industries including:
- LNG for established and emerging industries
- Hydrogen – Green and Blue
- Renewables (Wind and Solar) and Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS)
- Global maritime changes – LNG Fuels, ammonia fuels, E Vehicles and powered engines
