Operate Pumps Perth

Learn the skills to operate pumps at an incident.

This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge required to operate a portable pump and/or appliance mounted pump at an incident. Typically, this work requires the
application of basic principles hydraulics and involves working as a member of a team under limited supervision. This course does not meet the Fire Sector Qualification
packaging pathway.

Note: ERGT are not delivering this course to individuals within the fire sector, prerequisite units for fire sector are not obtained prior to the issuance of this unit to individuals, this unit should not contribute to the attainment of a fire qualification.

Structure and Assessment

This course is delivered through classroom presentations, group discussion and practical demonstrations and exercises. Trainees will demonstrate their competence through written and practical assessment.

ERGT Required Skills and Knowledge

For ERGT to deliver the training and assessment in the timeframe specified for this course, trainees are required to come to the course with a specific range of skills and knowledge.
Evidence of the following prior skills and knowledge must be provided to ERGT for verification prior to course commencement:

  • RIIERR201E Conduct fire team operations or equivalent
