This 4-day training equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills to carry out rescues in vertical environments using ropes, knots, and specialised rescue systems.
This course is structured so that learners must successfully complete PUASAR022 Participate in a rescue operation (assessed on Day 1) before progressing to PUASAR032 Undertake vertical rescue. The training also supports desired skills including conducting risk assessments, applying casualty handling techniques, identifying hazards and implementing control measures, and contributing to post-rescue debriefs. Learners must be physically fit to climb, lift, and work at heights while using personal protective and rescue equipment
