The course covers leading & developing safe teams, managing hazards and risks, managing safety, reporting & investigating incidents and initial ER, a understanding and influencing safe behaviours.

A certificate of completion is awarded following successful participation of the onshore component. Only after successful completion of the offshore component of the program do participants receive their Safe Supervisor Card. This attests that the required behaviours have been demonstrated. The card is issued by APPEA, operating at the discretion of the oil and gas industry.
ERGT Desired Skills and Knowledge
It is recommended (but not mandatory) that trainees are experienced offshore workers, with some lead hand or supervisory experience.
Medical and Health Standards
A medical certificate is not required for this course, however a health questionnaire and declaration of fitness will be required at course registration. Please contact ERGT for any concerns regarding completion of practical training and assessment requirements and to discuss options for reasonable adjustments.
A government issued photo identification is required for course registration.
As per APPEA design there is no revalidation requirement. It is expected that Supervisors are maintaining the appropriate skills and knowledge whilst in the workplace.
