The Manage emergency incidents (Incident Command Team - Leader) course at ERGT Australia builds the skills and knowledge required to manage and coordinate an emergency response. This course applies to personnel who are required to assess the magnitude and impact of the emergency, gather and coordinate all necessary emergency response personnel and equipment, and direct their implementation. Learners also initiate all necessary communication responses, both within and outside the facility.

This training applies to learners who would normally be in control or command of the facility or be required to deputise in this role. In a typical scenario, the person in charge of a facility undertakes the management, coordination and response to emergency situations within the facility.

This training delivers the outcome PMAWHS511 Manage emergency incidents. There are no formal prerequisites, it is recommended that learners should be prepared for an intensive program focused on hands-on practice and applied learning in high stress environments.

The Manage emergency incidents course at ERGT Australia is designed for learners working in emergency response, operations, or safety-critical roles where accurate information management during incidents is essential.

This training applies to personnel who are required to assess the magnitude and impact of the emergency, gather and coordinate all of the necessary emergency response personnel and equipment and direct their implementation, and initiate all of the necessary communication responses, both within and outside the facility. In a typical scenario the person in charge of a facility undertakes the management, coordination and response to emergency situations within the facility.

Typical facilities could include:

Onshore/offshore installation/rig

Floating facility (e.g. floating storage and offloading (FSO), floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO), and floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG))

Onshore hydrocarbons production, processing and/or storage facilities

Pipeline and related facilities

Chemicals manufacturing plant.

No prior learning is required, making this course suitable for both new and experienced learners seeking to formalise or refresh their skills.

Learners must have basic Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) skills to understand safety procedures and complete assessments. Prerequisites

There are no pre-requisites from the training standard for this course.

What to wear: long pants, shirt with sleeves, fully enclosed shoes.
Unique Student Identifier (USI):
You are enrolling in a Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) course.
A Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be provided and verified for NRT. Please refer to http://www.usi.gov.au to create a USI. It is strongly recommended that you grant ERGT permission to access your USI transcript to assist with verification.
ERGT is prohibited by law to issue a Statement of Attainment without a verified USI.
A USI must be provided and verified within 30 days of course completion otherwise an alternative non NRT certificate will be issued.
Health & Fitness:
A medical certificate is not required for this course; however, a health questionnaire and declaration of fitness will be required at course registration. Please contact ERGT for any concerns regarding completion of practical training and assessment requirements.
